Numerical Technologies Named One of Silicon Valley's 50 Fastest Growing Companies

SAN JOSE, Calif., Sept. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Numerical Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: NMTC), the leading provider of subwavelength design-to-silicon solutions to the semiconductor industry, today announced that it has landed a position as one of the top 10 companies in Deloitte & Touche's list of the 50 fastest growing businesses in the Silicon Valley. With revenue reaching $23.3 million in 2000, up from $51,000 in 1996, Numerical secured the number six spot on the list.

Numerical's latest industry recognition puts them in an exclusive category of successful companies that has included past honorees such as Yahoo!, Rambus, Cisco Systems, Netscape, NVIDIA and PeopleSoft. The company was chosen after an evaluation of the operating revenue of companies that earned at least $50,000 in 1996 and at least $1 million in 2000. Numerical's growth over that time period equated to approximately 45,586 percent.

``To be honored as one of the fastest growing companies in Silicon Valley confirms to our customers and partners that we have built a solid business model, which is allowing us to challenge the downward trend currently gripping the high-tech industry,'' said Y.C. (Buno) Pati, president and CEO of Numerical Technologies. ``It also enables us to continually offer optimized manufacturing solutions that allow our customers to speed advanced integrated circuits to market, while saving money using their existing equipment.''

``To rank on the Deloitte & Touche Technology Fast 50, companies must have phenomenal revenue growth in a five-year period. Numerical Technologies has proven to be one of the fast-growth success stories in Silicon Valley, and we applaud their success and vision,'' said Roy Avondet, managing partner of Deloitte & Touche.
